GRIEFSHARE

Tuesdays at 9:30am or 6pm

Starting Jan. 20

GriefShare is a place to learn how to walk the journey of grief and be supported along the way. It is a place for hurting people to find healing and hope. If you have lost a loved one, GriefShare is the place for you.

Your GriefShare group will be led by people who know what you are going through. They will help you clarify your thoughts on what is happening to you. You will learn how to communicate to others what you do and don’t need from them. By viewing a video seminar and through group discussion, you will learn to grieve in a way that leads toward healing. You can journey from mourning to joy.

Leaders: Mary Clendennen, Mimi Eppler, & Pam Peters

Become a Lay Counselor

Be a part of a special opportunity to take an online training course to provide assistance through lay counseling sessions at FBC. This training is for any church member or person affiliated with FBC who feels called to gain formal training in order to obtain a mental health certification. Individuals who complete the 3 levels of training through Light University will become eligible lay counselors who can come alongside FBC’s counseling initiative to provide mental health care to our community.

As trainees complete the courses, they will intermittently meet with either Jenn Edwards or Dawn Jones to get consultation, support, and direction as needed. If you would like to answer this call, you can begin the process by signing up here for the training through Light University. Once you have begun the process of signing up for the training through Light University, please contact either Dawn Jones or Jenn Edwards to let them know you have begun the process and to schedule a time to meet.
