Chris Etheredge serves as the Missions Pastor. Chris grew up in Midland, TX where he was from a young age pulled to serve his community as best he could, even serving as chaplain in his school’s band senior year. Chris graduated from Texas A&M with a Biology degree and was pursuing a medical degree when in his second year of med school he was posed the question by his wife Laura Beth “are you sure you want to be in the medical field?” With her prompting and much prayer, it was clear to Chris that while medicine was his plan, it was not God’s.
Chris felt in his heart a passion to serve people in his community as God led him to day by day, through missions, leadership, and teaching, taking every chance he got to share the love and hope that God has given us. He decided to go to seminary at Southwestern where he got a Master of Divinity in International Church Planting.
Chris and Laura Beth met on the mission field in Antigua, Guatemala, so it makes sense that missions is a big part of their family. They have two kids, Luke and Caroline, whom Chris refers to as their book-end kids since Luke was born prior to their missional stay in Zambia and Caroline was born on their last year there. Chris enjoys wake boarding, playing percussion, watching sci-fi and superhero movies, and fun trips with his family.
