Make Waves VBS was truly a blast! We had 23 completed 5th graders in our “Purple Crush” group. This is always a special time as we set them apart for their last year in VBS. Ross and Meaghen have led this group for the last 6 years that I have done VBS – what a blessing they are!
This year we brought our Purple Crushers to the Missions Center for a service project. We swept up the floors, picked up trash, collected a pile of nails, and sorted wood. It was an hour of hot, sweaty work but it was worth it.
Once we finished, we had a special time writing scripture and prayers on the “bones” of the walls. Timothy Salinas, one of our 5th graders, closed us in prayer. Afterward, we headed back to the church for some Coke floats and waterslide fun! What an amazing experience this was for all involved.
I pray this good work has a long-lasting kingdom impact not only on the 5th graders and the teenage and adult volunteers but also on everyone who walks through the doors of the Missions Center.
