Dr. Rusty Freeman, D.Min., is a 7th generation pastor who is passionate about students people meeting Jesus and discovering God’s plan for their lives. He loves hanging out with senior high and middle school students and dominating at gaga ball and ultimate frisbee!
Rusty’s first official job as a youth director was in the fall of 1993 when he started seminary in Kentucky at Asbury Theological Seminary. After that Rusty served as a youth director and associate pastor in Marble Falls from 1996-1999. From 2000 to 2014 he served as the Conference Director of Youth Ministries for the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, planning over 250 camps and retreats, and seeing hundreds of student accept Christ and dozens respond to a call to full-time ministry.
Rusty founded Movement Ministries, LLC, in 2014 and offers spiritual direction, pastoral care and strategic ministry planning to lay and clergy. Movement Ministries helps advance God’s Kingdom among God’s people. He writes a daily blog on movementministriesblog.com and often shares about his adventures on mission trips to Kenya, Turkey, Israel and Central America.
Rusty lives in beautiful Marble Falls, Texas, with his lovely wife Lane, a dentist and partner in ministry. He has two awesome kids Brian, 22, who attends Baylor University, and Bailey, 15, who attends Faith Academy. Rusty is an avid runner, writer, coffee drinker, dog-lover and follower of Jesus Christ.
