As Headmaster of First Baptist Christian School, I am so grateful that the students are able to learn about the Lord every day, five days a week! We try to keep the tuition as low as possible so that we can reach as many students as possible for the Lord! To do this, FBCS must step out in faith with its budget each year by hosting a Gala that benefits the School Ministry with scholarships for students as well as funding this year for a new playground.
When we planned the new building, a playground for children ages 2 to 12 was part of the plans. However, as the construction went along, we ran short on funds to build the playground to serve the Church and School children. We are excited that the Church and School have raised enough funds to begin preparing the playground site just south of the pavilion thanks to the donations of many of you!
Above is what the playground looks like now with the groundwork done, but we need to finish it! Picture in your mind what this playground site will look like when we have added ground cover, play equipment, slides, swings, a fence and concrete steps and sidewalks to get to it. We encourage everyone to please attend the FBCS Gala on March 3rd, and help us finish funding the playground. It is for a great cause – our children!
This year, the theme of the Gala will be a journey to Hawaii with exciting Hawaiian dancers to entertain us. Dress Hawaiian or casual, and join us at the beautiful Horseshoe Bay Resort Yacht Club on Friday, March 3rd, 2017. Tickets are now on sale at the School Office or at a table in the Great Hall on Sundays. Tickets are $55 per person or $100 per couple. There will also be child care available at First Baptist Church for Gala attendees for children ages 2 and up. Call the School Office (830-693-3930) and speak with Reagan to make your reservations for child care by February 27th.
Thank you, Church Family, in advance for your generosity to First Baptist Christian School. We love you and appreciate your faithful support!
